 Die kanadische Band formierte sich 1976 in Toronto. Die Brüder Jim (Bass) und Ian Crichton (Gitarre), Michael Sadler (Gesang), Steve Negus (Schlagzeug) und Peter Rochon (Keyboard) veröffentlichen 1978 das selbstbenanntes Album. Das Zusammenspiel aus Synthie-Klängen und Rock und die perfekte Übereinstimmung aus Gitarre und Keyboard geben Saga den eigenen style ihrer Musik.In Kanada schon als grosse Hoffnung und in Deutschland bekannt gelingt ihnen erst mit dem Album "World Apart" der grosse Durchbruch. Gleich zwei Single Hits wie "wind him up" und "on the Loose" sind darauf zu finden.Ihr der Zeit angepasster Sound katapultiert sie in die die Deutschen Top10. Das nächste Album "In Transit" festigt ihren Position.
