1963 spielte er das erste mal , im alter von 15 Jahren, in der Band von Jazzer Ronnie Scott das Saxophone.1964 gründete er mit Schulfreunden die Band "King Bees".Ende 1964 wurde er Mitglied der Band "Manish Boys".1966 änderte David Jones seinen Namen zu David Bowie.David versuchte es als Solist und veröffentlichte seine erste Single "Do anything you say". Bis 1968 folgten weitere erfolglose Singles.Er bewarb sich bei Apple Records , wurde aber abgelehnt.1969 erschien erstmals "Space Oddity". Der erste Top10 Erfolg.1972 , drei Jahre später, passte er sich dem Trend an und war erfolgreich bis in die 90er Jahre.1975 "Fame " und "1983 "Lets dance" waren Spitzerreiter.Zwischendurch spielte er auch in verschiedenen Filmen mit . Z.B.: "Labyrinth" und "absolute Beginnings".1993 veröffentlichte er die CD "Buddah of Siburbia" zu dem Film "Buddah".Im gleichen Jahr kam die Doppel CD heraus mit 37 seiner grossen Hits.1997 erschien "Earthling".
